And yes, you only lose free agents who leave the Chiefs. You can keep Maclin or Howard if you want, or anyone else who was outright cut. You only lose people if they leave in free agency.
The latter gives you a long-term incentive to not draft Chiefs, since for convenience you won't lose a non-Chief if he leaves his drafted team. It would be nice if we lost anyone who moved via free agency, but early on we were worried that it would be hard to track everyone. So it's a bit of an advantage to us compared to real NFL GM's, but we also face some disadvantages too, in that we can't force our guy into the lineup.

Are we allowed to accept the trades for Ragland and Erving with the picks given up for them? Or are we basically just kind of screwed.
We don't get the luxury of adding free agents/waivers or trading for players like NFL GMs, so at least being able to accept traded for players would be nice.
Very important in my roster development.
