I'm like 5 pounds away from what I'd consider my absolute ideal weight right now, but I love this thread. Something in here inspired me to look at a thread I started seven (!) years ago:

I started that adventure at 260 or thereabouts. I weigh 150 pounds today. It's not about following the One True Plan™ forever, or anything; you just have to slowly train yourself to make better choices about
what your body needs and learn how to forget your inevitable Bad Days along the way. I've lost 20 pounds since mid-2011 with zero dietary restrictions, and was apparently none the worse for the countless times I felt like all of my progress was lost and the next time I stepped on a scale it would shatter under my girth.
It's still pretty hard to believe I'm a "totally healthy young woman," as my doctor put it after my last physical/bloodwork, but it seems like the habits and information I learned while on a super extreme very low cal/carb diet for a few months in 2006 helped me mostly stay on track. It's so weird to look back and realize how much more physically capable I am than I was from 15-22.
