This show is often times too "inside" and tonight was one of those episodes.
Unless you live and work in Tinseltown, episodes like this one probably seem trite.
But honestly, stuff like this does happen.

I could definitely see that being the case. I just didn't find the humor all that funny. It seemed like generic or canned "trippin'" humor.
I did think Eric Roberts' part was pretty sweet.
