When is the solstice where I live?
The solstice happens at the same instant for all of us, everywhere on Earth. In 2012, the December solstice takes place on Friday, December 21 at 5:12 a.m. CST (11:12 UTC). To find the time in your location, you have to translate to your time zone. Check out the following EarthSky article. Just remember: you’re translating from 11:12 Universal Time on December 21.
