Wilson wasn't really required to do much - he was 18 of 25 for 206 yards and 2 TDs.

Mahomes was 26 of 42 for 286 yards with 2 TDs, 2 INTs and a rushing TD in his SB win.

It's not like he was much more glamourous... he had to actually work for it for 4 quarters. I'm sure he would have preferred not needing to score 10+ points to win it in the 4th.
We can go back and forth on who looked better or who was more impactful in their Super Bowl win, but bottom line, both guys got the job done when they had to and helped bring home the trophy. Russ was much more athletic back then, but there's no question he benefitted from playing with an all time defense. Something Mahomes has never had in his NFL career. He and the offense have had to carry the water for this team from Day 1 when he became the starter. The defense has had its moments, but overall the last 4 years has not been a good unit. Anywhere from average to really bad.

That said, Mahomes is young, fairly athletic and two years removed from his Super Bowl win, one year from a second Super Bowl appearance and coming off four straight conference Title games. There's no reason to think he won't be back again soon, as long as the Chiefs keep drafting well.

Russ hasn't sniffed a Super Bowl or even conference Title game since 2015. Same for Denver who has been awful since Manning rode off into the sunset. Both are 7 years removed from any true meaningful game. So now the coming together of these two are going to produce regular playoff appearances and Super Bowls? Yeah, not buying it. Especially in a much improved division where now it's not only the Chiefs you have to get through.

Good luck, though, I guess . . . . . .
