You have all of this on top of a bunch of testing and results being delayed due to the holiday so its hard to know if there a surge or not.
The holiday weekend last week has played a role for sure.
Testing here locally shut down last week from Friday until Tuesday even though people needed testing so they had to wait until Tuesday so many more people tested Tuesday than would have on a normal day. As a result a larger number of test results came back on a single day (late Friday) while no testing occurred for 3 days etc...which will cause a lag in results 3 days from that time.
