Speaking for the P89 though, it is a great gun. It was my first (and only so far) handgun that I got myself for graduation. Extremely reliable. I've never had any kind of problem using wally world WWB and Federal ammo.
The only thing I don't like about it is it's a little big for regular concealed carry, so I've only used it as a range gun and I haven't been a regular range goer for a few years now.
Sometime this summer I'll get a Ruger SR22 for a cheap range gun/plinker and just pay the $5 to rent if I want to shoot something bigger than a .22. Then in the next year or so I'll get something smaller than the P89 for a carry gun.

I've got one. Basically top of the line in the cheapy pistol department. Bulky and ugly and has a really long trigger pull, but it shoots straight and is reliable.
If you get one, I recommend getting a Hogue slip on grip for it, because the grip sucks.
