Anybody who looked at the facts behind the media hype knows that Ben did not rape or assault either woman. He was guilty of juvenile, boorish behavior. He was arrogant, and had a libertine attitude...but he was not guilty of crimes. Ben fell prey to the adulation and acted like a jerk. But he got a wake up call. He went back to his father/family. He got people around him for accountability. He made an authentic commitment to his faith. (I am part of a group that meets with the Steeler chaplain. He doesn't give out personal info but began telling us years ago that Ben was genuinely transforming his life.) I think his record since then demonstrates the truth of this statement. How Ben is viewed by his teammates and how his persona around Pittsburgh has changed is more evidence. Grabbing old, low hanging fruit is great for an echo-chamber but it's not exactly intelligent commentary.
