I can't vouch for how they work, but
THIS is an option. You could buy a newer one and this thing. In my mind it should work, it is just applying conductivity.

think Samsung was getting blasted because their styluses were a pain in the dick to use so they quit them. I could be wrong on all that. It's been awhile since I've paid attention to any of that.
I guess for a little less money, you could buy a replacement stylus for those old tablets and see if they'd work on a newer one. Again, I think it is just applying conductivity, but I don't know that for sure.
