I did not, but I saw Carpenter pitch last year. That's one of the hidden blessings of Pujols leaving as a FA. I don't have to care about him anymore and see him flounder and fail down the road while he still looks like the guy who was the greatest baseball player I'd ever seen.
I remember Sugar Ray coming back against Macho Camacho and embarrassing himself.
I remember the Wizards playing a featured game on ESPN on Friday night the second year Jordan was back. It was a close game that they pulled out at the last second, but Jordan missed a FT that would have iced the game and I was just ****ing stunned. It was shortly after he dropped 40 against the Hornets, thinking that maybe he was somewhat impervious to time. To see him miss that in the clutch sealed his mortality for me.
It was such a small event, but it really stuck with me.
