Technically you're paying for the "prospect" of entertainment. I reserve judgment on whether I've been entertained or not until after the movie's over.
But those prices are ****ing outrageous. Kind of makes it hard to feel sorry for the motion picture industry over pirating (or pretty much anything else). Perhaps they should stop paying some of these people $20 million for three months worth of work and pass those savings along to the consumers. Maybe then I'll give a shit.
And no, I don't watch pirated stuff. But with all the ways everybody's getting bent over right now, I'm not losing any sleep over it, either.
