The major Denver newspaper spent a ton of money to build a large fancy building in downtown Denver right as the newspaper industry started collapsing. It may have not been a bad decision in retrospect, because the real estate market is strong and they subleasing a lot of space now. I half-suspect that they're making more money right now by leasing the building than they are by running a newspaper.
