Depending on the flow of the match and the map, yeah, that's pretty much correct. Also depends on which side I spawn. For example, on maps like Skidrow and Invasion, if I spawn on the wrong side, I will make it my mission to take the other team's spawn (Embassy or Ranger side two-story, respectively) and hold it down for the rest of the match.
So, my favorite maps are Skidrow and Invasion due to them having a clear "offense vs defense" set up (for me). I'll choke the airplane exit on Terminal and move to check on the Burgertown from the metal detectors for example. I'll choke the whole right side of the map from the SEAL rooftop in Karachi and still have access to defend the bus side.
On maps like Favela, High Rise and Rundown, I'll be running and gunning obvioulsy. So it all just depends. In COD4, I was always a run and gunner. I have learned to be a lot more smart and patient playing MW2, though.
