Eh, in my real world, Windows is only around for end users... nothing important runs on it.

I just have to much fun busting the chops of techies and their hatred of all things Microsoft. I certaintly relate to the root cause of their feelings but I just embrace the horror and move on.

I've been playing around with Ubuntu (linux dist) and I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed with the progress they've made for non-linux geeks. One of the biggest reasons I got away from it a couple years ago is because installing software was such a huge pain in the ass.
Well the devs created a Ubuntu Software Center much like Windows program manager and install/uninstall is a breeze. All the configuration settings are layed out in a very neat and easy to understand Windows-like format. As far as web compatibility everything from Youtube to any webpage you can imagine works flawlessly in the browsers which Firefox is the default but Google Chrome is also available in ubuntu linux version and the whole OS is completely free and constantly under development for improvement and upgrades. You can go to the deepest and darkest spots of the internet and not have to worry about a virus, malware or anything else. I've got nothing to do with the OS just spreading the news. |

Malwarebytes is great, I also have AVG loaded on my puter.
The AVG software is free, you can pay $40 a year and add live scanning as you go. Since I spent the $40 I haven't had any problems. I run daily scans of both and update the software on a regular basis. |

I've used CCLeaner for years and it works flawlessley. It's also free. The main purpose for me is to occasionally clean-up the registry...lot's of remnants remain with software updates and removals that tend to slow down to PC. It also has a clean up function that also speeds up the pc. Does not remove adware or viruses though.

I did go back to Windows for a little while after I got a new laptop, because Windows 7 was so much better than previous versions of Windows, and I was having some issues with Ubuntu dealing with Flash, etc; that I hadn't had time to deal with... then one day I caught a virus from someone on the same network I was on, which got my butt in gear to fix the annoyances with Ubuntu. When I gave my old laptop away, I kept XP and Ubuntu on it, and they seem to like Ubuntu.... even if I only convert one person, the world is that much better for it.

hey, don't get me wrong. I'm sitting in a training class that I installed Red Hat, ESX host, vSphere, vSphere client and attached SAN arrays to it this am. Having a lot of fun with it.
But the bread and butter of I.T. in the real world is Microsoft. It is what it is.

Like I mentioned below I got my feet wet about 3 years ago and was immediately turned off because software was so difficult to install. My oh my the leaps and bounds the devs made in fixing that. It's a simply amazing OS. |

It's really a no-brainer for anyone who's a little tech savvy (or not afraid to learn) and primarily uses their computer for email/internet, and it's quickly becoming an OS that you can lean on as a complete (and free) replacement for Windows.

registry cleaners are just as likely to screw something up really badly as they are to fix something if you don't know what you're doing.
run Malwarebyte while in safe mode for best effect

Okay, then. What do I use to wipe off, when I've searched through-and-through for a 3D method to impregnate Irina Vorovina, albiet I had my nuts cut 10 years ago?
