He wasn’t playing well prior to injury. But it’s nice to have some depth insurance inside there. I do like the idea of a hometown kid getting another crack to right last year’s wrongs and get us back to the Super Bowl.

EDIT: He’s not on the 53 just yet. Team has 3 weeks to make that declaration, or not.

I like Kansas City Chiefs current rotation of defensive linemen.

Chiefs.com has Chris Jones, Derrick Nnadi, Mike Pennel, and Khalen Saunders listed at DT.

They have Frank Clark, Tanoh Kpassagnon, and Alex Okafor at DE. They also have Demone Harris listed as a LB but depth chart shows him as a DE.

Chiefs have 3 weeks to decide on Xavier Williams.

They could keep 9 defensive linemen, but that is one less player at another position.

It's possible after 3 weeks they put Xavier Williams back on IR if they don't think he has fully recovered or KC might just cut him.

It is also possible and unfortunate, that an injury to another KC defensive lineman answers the question for the Chiefs on what to do with Xavier Williams.

Depending on what is really wrong with the RBs Williams and how Ware does, I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see 1 of them go on IR if X is OK. Consider we probably will face the Ravens in the playoffs, we'll need as many stout DL as we can carry.
