Life in a French village, under German occupation in France during WWII as seen through the eyes of the common people and their personal relationships with each other. We see how it affects their daily lives with food shortages, politics, collaborators, communists, Vichy's squads, the Resistance, when Americans come in later near the end, up to post-war with shaving of women's heads who slept with German soldiers or actually fell-in-love and even had their babies, and execution of other collaborators with the Germans. Another excellent foreign series. It is on Prime.

Has documentary clips of old survivors talking about what it was like at certain intervals to say what was true.
