Draft hypothetical: we trade up for QB, who do you pick in the 3rd?
I am neither advocating, nor expecting this, just a curiosity.
Say that Mariota fell to where we could get him for our 2nd. That leaves us - realistically - with only our two 3rd round picks to acquire players to help us this year (i'm assuming the rest of our picks are crap shoots, obviously we might strike gold). Given our multiple needs - OL, WR, ILB - and the fact that neither our 1st or 2nd round picks will produce anything this year... who do you take in the 3rd with the hope they can contribute now (or at some point this year)? (i leave it to you to assume who will be available at our picks) |

These QBs don't interest me at all. They both look like busts to me.

In the right situation, his off field issues can be overcome. I am not a fan of Marriotta, however, in this hypothetical, I would go Tre McBride, Eric Rowe and John Miller (to throw in a bonus pick) as my next 3 picks.

Winston is the only one I'd be remotely interested mariotta seems like Alex smith we all ready have him.
In your scenario. I go first third ILB like Anthony or Dawson maybe Henney from KU Second third. WR Austin Hill , Mcbride, lockett |

If we did this wed still have picks to add to the team Dorsey and Ballard would really need to draft good and margin for error would be even smaller than normal.

yeah, it's just a constraint to see what people could squeeze out of the third round

Using walterfootball.com's latest mock draft.....I'd go with the following for the first 4 rounds.
1. Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon 3. Tyler Lockett, WR, Kansas State 3 (C). Josh Shaw, CB, USC 4. Donovan Smith, OT, Penn State |

Look what I look for in a QB is three major factors
1. Nfl arm can he make nfl throws 2. Leadership ability. Can he lead a team motivate them when they are down 3. Heart. Stay in the pocket and still complete the throw although he knows he's getting hit Winston checks off on all categories I worry bout the maturity but who didn't do stupid things in college I want to know he's learned from his mistakes. |
