Jon Secada is a very talented singer and I like that song.

Have this as well. Big Cars fan. But... But.... This is really disappointing. Like Ocasek was trying too hard.

Well he was getting a little old for pop when he broke in America... was in his low 30's. Did a lot of Spanish music, had 6 top 40 hits in the U.S. though. That's pretty good for any pop singer. I don't see him as a guy who had American pop as a high priority really.
edit... He was also more of an Adult Contemporary singer/star than top 40.

I'll give ya that it's not a great Cars album, although I haven't listened to anything on it for so long I really don't even remember it. I liked some of it though.

I couldn't even remember off the top of my head what songs were on it, so I looked it up, it's all terrible. The whole damn album is crap.

I liked "Magic" and "Hello Again." 80's pop stuff... yeah... but I like a ton of 80's pop stuff. Oh well.

The Cars had a lot of great stuff up until that atrocity. The only other band I can think of that took that big of a nosedive was the whole "Starship" debacle that Jefferson Starship morphed into. God, what the hell was that all about.

Trying to stay relevant in changing times. Same as The Cars and a hundred other bands. I'm not saying I'm for it... just saying what I believe causes those things.
