What does that say about the ACC overall if one of their teams playing in the conference championship is a 30 point underdog? Wow!

Sorry I'm in late here, but looking at the BCS standings it would seem to me that if Missouri wins and Ohio State loses, Missouri should jump to #2.
I mean, it would be obvious that Missouri would leapfrog Auburn, and it would defy logic that Alabama would stay ahead of Missouri if Missouri had a win against a team that beat them just a week before. But then again, it's the BcS. Pulling for you guys big time! |

The ACC is garbage, which is why FSU's SOS is so pathetic. People talk about the SEC champ jumping Ohio State, but Florida State is the one that really should be discussed. Ohio State has faced much stiffer competition than FSU.

A one loss SEC team is still the best in the country.

That's the 800 lb gorilla in the room. Does a two loss Auburn who beat Alabama go to a BCS game or does Alabama go in spite of not being in the SECCG and losing to Auburn? I think a one loss Alabama would get the BCS slot.

A one loss Alabama team would go in over a two loss Auburn. In fact, I'd consider it a lock.

I'd argue that FSU at least knocked off two red hot and undefeated teams in Clemson and Miami. They pounded the **** out of both of those squads. It's a really meh discussion as the only team in the top 5 (with any realistic BCS hopes) that has played a schedule worth a **** is Auburn, with maybe a small footnote at the bottom for Missouri. One thing working for Missouri (if they win) is ESPN will be pimping them hard for the BCS title game. I think they are legally obligated to cheerlead the SEC now. Missouri senior cornerback E.J. Gaines was chosen Monday as the co-defensive player of the week in the Southeastern Conference.
Gaines, who shared the award with Mississippi senior safety Nickoe Whitley, shut down Texas A&M sophomore wide receiver Mike Evans on Saturday, allowing him to catch only four passes for eight yards in a 28-21 victory for the Tigers. Evans led the SEC in yards and touchdowns before being blanketed by Gaines, who finished with six tackles for a defense that limited the Aggies to 379 total yards. Gaines, a Fort Osage graduate, ranks fourth in the SEC with four interceptions and is third for Missouri with 59 tackles despite missing two and a half games. The Tigers, who play Auburn for the SEC title Saturday at the Georgia Dome, have won 12 weekly conference awards, which is the most in a single season in program history.
