Pats Cheating Comfirmed

According to the report, the league sources say the NFL determined 11 of the 12 footballs used by the Patriots were under-inflated by two pounds per square inch each. Per NFL rules, footballs are required to be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 PSI and weigh between 14 and 15 ounces.

Rodgers' actions fall well within both the letter and spirit of the rules. Brady's do not.
Exactly.

People are missing the point that it is perfectly legal for QB's to scuff and wear in the balls AND THEN HAND THEM IN FOR INSPECTION. The NFL is aware of this practice, which is why each team submits their own balls. They submit them as their QB likes it. This is legal.

The referees have every right to reject or keep the submitted ball and then check for inflation. Altering the inflation after the inspection is cheating. Period. End of story.

People who say it isn't a big deal. Well, apparently it's a big enough of a deal for the NFL to have a rule with specific requirements. The NFL felt it was important enough to implement an entire check in procedure with inflation requirements.

Brady cheated, plain and simple.

The ****ing superbowl is in a week and a half. If I were in either of their shoes I wouldn't even do the bare minimum at this point.

The main thing here is that it seems pretty clear to me based on the reaction around the league that teams have been fooling around with the ball in different ways, both legally, illegally and quasi-legally (doing something illegal before the refs inspected and hoping it got through their inspection), for years, but nobody cared.

NOW suddenly everyone cares, but really only because it's the Patriots, who everyone loves to hate, and it's turned into a big hullaballo. Selective enforcement seems unfair, but the masses must be appeased in some fashion.

So yeah, draft pick I guess, though it still seems pretty ridiculous to me.
The rest of the league has been deflating balls after the inspection? Really? Pats are not getting a fair shake are they.

You sound like every other NE fan. The 'What is the big deal attitude." They don't play on the level and they cheated. That's the big and it's what Bill and Brady will be remembered for from now on. Their legacy has now taken a massive hit.

Did I miss where the Pats use their own ball and the Colts use their own ball? Because isn't there only one game ball? It's different because they (the pats) are the ones who manipulated the ball, right? so they were 'used to it?'

I'm trying to follow the logic of how this happened, etc etc etc...

Each team has their own balls that they use on offense.

Most likely explanation is the Brady has been having the equipment guy do this for years, and nobody around the league really cared. Would have taken one call from the league office to the Pats to stop this, and I'm guessing it never happened.
