Kudos. Seriously, I mean it. Quite the skill.

No sarcasm.
That’s ****ing irrelevant. Their 7 game losing streak kept them out of the playoffs. He dug himself a hole that the winning streak couldn’t get him out of. What good was the winning streak when they still missed out on the playoffs, while the Bills AND Pats made it?

How about the reports that he didn’t talk to his staff after Thanksgiving? They were all reportedly confused because it didn’t change when they started winning. Do you think that had anything to do with him getting fired? How about the OCs he went through?

Flores got fired because the Dolphins are incompetent, he didn’t tow the company line, and didn’t get along with Grier.

This is ChiefsPlanet where EVERYTHING is racist.

Especially black on black crime like Grier firing Flores. It's the worst kind of racism.

You need to get woke, brah.

That’s what you’re making your argument seem like.
He’s doing the same thing as zilla.

On one hand, he’s saying “I’m not saying it’s not racism”, but he sure does seem to be arguing that it is.

If it’s not systemic racism, then what is there to fix? What is the issue?

BTW all you guys saying look at the numbers are being beyond simplistic.

It doesn't matter 70% of the league is black when not many coaches are ex players to begin with.

Why? Well how many players are of HC or NFL coach caliber? Probably a damn small %. Of that % how many WANT to be NFL coaches? How many want to work menial shit quality control jobs for little to no money for years after making millions?

Coaches typically come from guys who weren't good enough to play in the NFL or play long who then spend years grinding through the system.

The Rooney Rule doesn't fix this, building the program for minorities from the bottom up fixes it and that's what they have been doing,. It just doesn't turn around in 2 or 5 or 10 years.

How many black QB's were in the league 10 years ago compared to today? Did all these teams suddenly become open to black QB's nd black GM's but not black HC's?

Nah doesn't pass the smell test.

Don’t get me wrong, I think there are differently racist hiring practices in the NFL.

But Flores was fired because he didn’t get along well with the FO, missed the POs in year 3, and had a 1-7 start.

His dismissal wasn’t about race.

Then I've either done a poor job, or some of you are looking at it as a Flores issue only and not a piece of a much bigger puzzle. Maybe both.

I was using him as an example (there are others) of someone who made chicken salad out of chicken shit and still got fired - while many white HC's are complete trainwrecks and keep their jobs.

Read the study I posted earlier. It shows that white HC's get more time/longer leash (and in a lot of cases more talent) than black HC's do.

Which you'd also know if you read the filing, which based on a lot of comments here, most of you didn't.

Just like the NFL, many of you have deemed his claims baseless without even reading the damn filing.

What do you think the claim in the lawsuit is? Is that not what we are discussing?

What do you think the claim EB isn't getting hired simply because he is black implies when he has been interviewed by a dozen teams over the years?

You are the one throwing numbers out which appear to be making the claim its systematic.

I've admitted many times that I don't know what it is - other than an obvious issue with NFL hiring practices.

Not sure why that's so hard for you to accept. Racism is extremely difficult to prove, and also a serious allegation. Based on the filing, along with the NFL's history and some of the studies done by ASU and others - it certainly begs the question and raises some concerns that need to be investigated.

It's more likely race-based discrimination originated with coaches choosing less qualified aspiring white positional coaches over non-white ones in the years before the Rooney rule applied to owners and established GMs using it to vet head coaches at the NFL level. College too while taking into account their smaller staffs.

But pointing to the racial makeup of the NFL's player pool as evidence of racism at the management level doesn't really land with me considering 80% of current coaches never played a down of football as NFL players.
