Affirmative action definitely contrasts the judged by the content of their character not the color of their skin segment of the speech. But true equality means no special treatment and that is no bueno.

Hilarious that you are honestly trying to say that some of those guys are as good as Daboll, who has obviously helped turned Josh Allen into a super star, and Taylor, who is currently in the ****ing SB.

You’re reaching so hard here and it’s completely obvious that you’re one of those Chiefs fans that is clueless when it comes to the rest of the NFL.
Hamilton helped Herbert win OYOY, and coached Davis Mills to the second-best completion percentage among rookie quarterbacks, the second-most passing touchdowns, and tied for the fewest interceptions among rookie QBs.

Leftwich orchestrated the #2 offense with Jameis Winston throwing 30-ish picks.

Bowles is regarded as one of the best defensive minds in the game.

Frazier has led a Top 3 defense in 3 of his 5 years in Buffalo.

But sure, Brian Daboll having Josh Allen and being complete dogshit the rest of his career (it's like you don't even remember him in KC) is a MUCH better candidate.

Nobody that wants to actually build something special like the Chiefs, Rams, Bengals etc. wants a defensive minded coach. The model is offensive HC with a good DC.

I’ve already acknowledged that Leftwitch is a legitimate candidate.

I didn’t mean to shit on Hamilton. I like him, and feel like he’s well on his way to being a HC, but he was just a QB coach with those guys. It’s always a little harder to go from position coach to HC. I asked for coaches that are treated unfairly. He’s not one.

Frazier and Bowles are old and defensive minded. The only thing they have going for them is experience, because they jsut aren’t sexy hires that fit today’s prototype.

Leftwitch, Ryans, Hamilton, and Mayo are guys that fit wha the NFL is looking for hence why they’re all getting a lot of buzz as future HCs. They will all get a shot, and it’s way too early to argue that any of them have been treated unfairly.

It's not even about a percentage. There shouldn't be an exact figure.

The right man should be hired for the job. If that was actually happening, do you think there would only be one black HC?

But let's back up - to be a HC - more often than not, you have to be a coordinator.

There are 15 black coordinators out of 64. If they aren't getting chances as coordinators, they aren't going to get a chance as a HC.

I don't have the numbers but would be curious the split between black and white position coaches.

Why? Well how many players are of HC or NFL coach caliber? Probably a damn small %. Of that % how many WANT to be NFL coaches? How many want to work menial shit quality control jobs for little to no money for years after making millions?

Coaches typically come from guys who weren't good enough to play in the NFL or play long who then spend years grinding through the system.

The Rooney Rule doesn't fix this, building the program for minorities from the bottom up fixes it and that's what they have been doing,. It just doesn't turn around in 2 or 5 or 10 years.

How many black QB's were in the league 10 years ago compared to today? Did all these teams suddenly become open to black QB's nd black GM's but not black HC's?

Nah doesn't pass the smell test.
It isn’t just nfl players. There are a ton of ncaa players who had insane football IQ but didn’t have the physical skills to go pro. How do you think kellen Moore and Ken Dorsey landed a job. Are you telling me there aren’t droves of those guys who couldn’t be developed into a very good coach?

I do agree on your second point about building from the bottom up. Which this ass backward draft comp rule actually kind of accomplishes. But the big piece is making sure the opportunities are there and that they are being developed and progressed. You can tell this was a big fail despite the nfl bragging about it because the pipeline of Black head coach candidates between 40-50 is basically zero. All the black hc candidates are either dinosaurs or infants. So either the coaching gene skipped a generation. More likely, teams need to do a way better job of recruiting and developing talent.

Hamilton can't be disqualified for being a position coach when there are guys like Ruhle and Kingsbury that have no/limited NFL experience.

Joe Judge was jumped straight from position coach to HC - so obviously it can happen.

And regarding your "prototype" - there are 15 black coordinators out of 64.

Only 4 of them are on the offensive side of the ball. So if what you claim is true, this is going to be an even bigger issue for the league in the coming years. It's not your fault, but the prototype sounds very white.

Who did Daboll have at QB?

Cassell, Quinn, and Palko, right?

I mean, I don't know that Daboll is a great HC.

But I DO know that Frazier and Bowles are definitely not. They are great coordinators.

I mean, Andy Reid was never a coordinator - went straight from position coach in GB to HC in Philly.

I didn’t say he should be “disqualified”. I’m saying that it’s a more difficult jump, and should he have success as an OC, he’s probably on his way to a HC job. That’s just common sense and logic.

Rhule and Kingsbury were HCs. Joe Judge was a coordinator (ST). You are comparing apples to oranges.

Kingsbury got the job because people were trying to find the next McVay.

Rhule got the job because he was seen as a guy that can turn a program around.

Judge got the job because everybody from the BB tree eventually does. The NFL will go to that well regardless of race, just ask Flores.

Also, you know why only 4 of those OC’s are black?

Most QBs and QB coaches are white. I know that might be shocking, but it’s a perfectly logical explanation.

People want QB specialists in charge of their offense in a passing league. Shocker.

Wait, so Daboll gets a pass for shitty talent, but Frazier and Bowles don't?

Bowles is the last Jets coach to win 10 games. That was in 2015 FFS.

Frazier hasn't gotten a 2nd chance despite last being a HC in 2013. Dude actually took a shitty Vikings team to the playoffs one of his seasons.

I have a hard time believing those two wouldn't/couldn't be successful if actually given some tools to work with, especially at QB.
