I think it will be tough to prove racism in hiring... especially when he landed a role. Showing up late, hungover and uninterested... seems a stretch. Poor form and disrespectful, yes. Racist? I dunno about all that... hell, the previous head coach was a 'person of color', so they're obviously not against the idea.

ESPN not even mentioning the bribery to rig games. Their headline and article is 100% about the racial angle. Seems to me like an owner bribing the coach to lose games is a massive deal, every bit as huge as the racism stuff.

Wow lost alot of respect for this guy. Really screwing future opportunities for qualified black coaches. Owners will be so scared of shit like this happening to them. The Rooney Rule should not even exist....as can be seen with the Elway thing. Denver knew who they were going to hire so it just wasted everyones time.

I see no evidence other than conjecture there was anything racially motivated. White owners are a product of socioeconomic picture in America, not the NFL being racist. There are only 7 black billionaires that even exist in America, and I'm sure the NFL would be jumping for joy if one of them would buy a team.

What does a text message from Belichick prove - who I'm sure was very hopeful Flores would get a head coaching gig because he was on their staff.

Hard to read how the Miami STH's would react to that charge. If I were paying to watch Dolphins football, I'd be pissed if they were tanking games on purpose. Unless there was a big prize for the tank, like Indy doing the "Suck for Luck."

Still, every team should be battling to win every game, every time. This is not a good look for the NFL at all.
