Have been banned from the other thread by an apparently sensitive snowflake (ironically after dozens of pages of political discussion from others) so I'll stick my thoughts on the NBA Playoffs here from now on. We needed a new thread anyway.

To be fair, situations like that are the new norm for young players in the NBA. It’s one thing for Butler to assert himself as alpha dog in the locker room. It’s another thing to team hop and get disgusted by your teammates everywhere you go. He’s going to be disappointed unless he winds up on an already established title contending team with vets on it

Simmons has some glaring flaws as a player. So did Wiggins and Towns. But Jimmy Butler is a ****ing asshole

Yeah, Ben Simmons is a major ****ing pussy, but when the coach and other star throw him under the bus, back it up, then peel out over the top of him again, the GM spends the entire off-season dangling him as trade bait leaking reports that no one is offering what they want because he sucks so bad, and the fans have made him public enemy #1 in Philadelphia, you can't act shocked when he says he doesn't want anything to do with the organization anymore and tanks his value even further by refusing to play. It's not like the 76ers are world beaters without him either. 17-17 record, good enough for a play in at best. I guess, but Harden is the biggest choker in the entire league. Combine that with his demeanor and Philadelphia would eventually run his ass out too.

it could have been huge because they wouldn't have to play embiid a million minutes. Dwight Howard is fine as a backup but Howard and Simmons together is a black hole for the offense.

Didn't the Simmons/Harden deal fall though because of Houston? Philly thought they had a deal but Houston was just using them to get the best offer out of Brooklyn, and never had any intention of trading him to Philly because they were butthurt about Morey.
