Thornhill played 11 snaps last night

Juan Thornhill played 11 snaps. He has way more talent than Dirty Dan but continues to get scrub playing time.

The usage of Thornhill is a complete mystery. Please enlighten me as to why Thornhill doesn't play more snaps?

It's the same BS we hear after every disappointing outing. Why not Thornhill over Sorenson, Gay (after his return from injury) over Neiman, Pringle/Kemp/Fountian/WR of the week over DRob? The answer is until one of those guys step up and TAKE the job away from the incumbent, we'll continue to see the same guys starting. Put the onus on the have-not rather than the have or coaching staff.

Sorensen would have to like kill someone to lose playing time.

Lucas and Ward were clear upgrades over Parker and Scandrick in 2018 yet we still kept trotting their bum asses out there until that stretch where we lost a couple straight and were forced into change.

I hate that stupid ass phrase "step up and take the job". How could they possibly even do that when they get close to no playing time and even when they do they make a good play and they're rewarded with more bench time. If a starter sucks shit, then why is he getting rewarded with more playing time?

Dan and Ben should almost never see the field. I dont care about practice. They suck. Put the younger guys out there so they can get better.

I hate hearing how Player X is the answer to all of our problems. I agree that the best 11 should be on the field, but Andy and the staff must be seeing something the rest of us aren't. Do they half-ass in practice, do they not know their assignments, are they sleeping during film study? That might have worked in college, but not in the NFL. This isn't Little League where the coach's kid pitches and SS, hitting leadoff. That kind of stuff gets you fired in the NFL. If they are the better player they'll play. Until they prove that, everything else is speculation.

Andy Reid is my favorite football coach ever, but the one thing he does year after year is plays the same vets over and over and if he has a vet that for some reason he's in love with, then he is gonna get a majority of playing time over a younger guy. It takes an injury for him to play a rookie/young player.

Humphrey, Smith, Niang, and to some extent Bolton, say otherwise.

I'm not saying our best 11 are always on the field, I'm just saying something caused Andy, Spags, and the rest of the staff to observe that Dirty Dan had a better camp than Juan. Can Thornhill be effective in the box? When he does make a tackle, does he lay the wood or does he try to just push the runner out of bounds? Is his injury causing him to be tentative or does he just say "**** it, football is a contact sport"?

The staff is trying to play him out of his funk. Sometimes it takes years. Been four for Ben so far. 9 for Dirty Dan. You don’t want to rush these funk exorcisms.

Thornhill struggled last week as well, but made some good plays late. I really want him to get back to his rookie level, but dude has been has been more bad than good since his injury. I hope he is close to turning that corner cause that rookie season he was one of my favorite players out there.

Concern in the back of my head is that Sneed doesn't look as instinctive this year, so I wonder if the coaches are overdoing something with these guys.
