The best 25 KC Chiefs players to never win a Super Bowl

Interesting article, but too large to paste here.

https://arrowheadaddict.com/2021/09/...in-super-bowl/

I'd be interested in who you think are the best Chiefs' players to not end up in the Super Bowl.

My pick is Henry Marshall. Saw him play at Arrowhead. He was amazing.

Right. Reading that now.

Neil Smith won one with Denver, he's not on the list either.

From the article:

In this list, we will go over the 25 best Chiefs players to never win a Super Bowl during their time in the NFL. This includes their time with the Chiefs and outside of Kansas City. Therefore, players like Joe Montana, Marcus Allen, Neil Smith, Priest Holmes and Trent Green will be omitted because they won a Super Bowl either before or after their time in Kansas City.

I'd definitely put Carson and Paige over Dwayne Bowe.

Bowe making this list is laughable.

Jared Allen is way too low, Dante Hall is way too high, Smith is too high. I'm no fan of what happened with Berry, but I'd rank him ahead of Hali and Johnson. Why is Roaf so low? Cuz he only played 4 seasons, but those 4 seasons he was the best and most dominant lineman I've ever seen. Eric Berry is ranked higher than him, but he only played in more than 6 games 5 times, so it's basically the same as Roaf.

There's more I just don't wanna sit here and get into it.

Jared Allen never made a meaningful game changing play in his Chiefs career that I can think of. Dude was the master of meaningless sacks and stats IMO. He would have 2 sacks in the first half and disappear the rest of the game.

Never trust a list like this. True story, I recently bought a book. It was a book about the Chiefs, called "The 50 Greatest Players in Kansas City Chiefs History". Normally, I wouldn't buy such a book, but it was in mint condition on ebay for a fifth of the retail price, and Mahomes was on the cover so it must be recent and up to date, right? So I thought.

Turns out this book is just garbage. All it is is a guy that goes to pro football reference and turns the box scores from past years into narrative form. In 199X, player X caught Y passes for a total of Z yards, and made the pro bowl, and that's the prose. It's not a good book even insofar as books made to be read on the toilet go.

But what really pisses me off is that they had Tony Gonzalez #2, Travis Kelce 19, and Neil Smith above Jamaal Charles. Mahomes barely made the top 50, and well under Alex Smith.

Moral of the story is, never buy or click on anything ranking Chiefs because it's just AIDS.

They ranked Dante Hall ahead of MUCH better and more impactful players.

You can't have a special teams gimmick player ranked ahead of Deron Cherry or Dale Carter.

For me it really hurt that guys like Shields, Charles, Gonzo, and DJ never got one. Most those guys are really good humans and gave everything they had...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).
