Help me buy my next car

The other car thread got me thinking that maybe I should ask you guys what kind of car I should buy.

Here is what you need to know.

1. I have a wife, son, and 105 lb dog (GSD).
2. I live in Iowa, so I don't want anything that would suck in bad weather.
3. My wife drives a Subaru Outback. I love it. Awesome car in shitty weather, and since its AWD, there is no guess work when to use 4WD. We have a divered so the dog stays out of the front.
4. We don't really travel with the dog, but we take her down the road to hang out with my father-in-laws GSD every day, so she's in the car twice a day.

What I'm looking for.

1. I want a vehicle with some size. If we were going to load up and go on a trip, I want a vehicle that has some cargo space.

2. Need decent gas mileage, but realize what I'll get with AWD of 4WD

3. If its over 6000, I would qualify for a business tax deduction.

4. I entertain clients, so needs to be nice.

Vehicles I've thought about.

1. New Ford F150, Chevy, GMC, Ram. - Crew Cab short box throw a topper on it for the dog. Like the idea of keeping the cabin clean.

2. I can't believe what the new Tahoes and Surburbans go for.

3. Larger mid-size SUVs, GMC Arcadia, Ford Explorer, really any mid-size SUV, would do.

4. Somedays I'm like fu@k it, and just get another Outback, but I know I'll miss the size.

Just purchased a 2017 Pacifica Ltd. AWD is not available, but we love the room and driving dynamics. Across IA on I-80 we were at 28mpg moving with the traffic flow.
Our Lab's love it!

A lot of issues with timing chains, transmissions and steering racks on the Traverse. Our Outlook is on its third rack. If the tranny or chains go, time for the heap.

I'm 16 months into a 24 month lease on a Traverse.

Hadn't had any issues until this morning. Making a tight turn and car lurches. Engine light starts flashing and screen tells me to have the stabiltrack serviced. Bringing it to dealer tonight.

On a separate note, did you just wake from a long coma or just remember after all these years you had an account at Chiefs Planet?

A classic woody with a surfboard would appear to meet all of your needs quite well, and be stylish to boot.

Don't hold back...how do you really feel? BUT JD Powers tends to report the Equinox as a non turd....Our 15 has been great, other than rear door shocks and hail damage...

Wife and I will be looking at the Mazda CX-9 towards the end of the year. We didn't like the cargo space of the CX-5.

Hometeam, do you sell these?
