Chiefs signing CB DeAndre Baker to practice squad [UPDATED]

Iíve seen this in a couple spots now, itís early but hereís this from a NYP journalist... https://twitter.com/nypost_schwartz/...959128576?s=21

Quote:
Giants are not in on DeAndre Baker.
Teams interested: Chiefs, Bengals, 49ers and Jaguars.
This would obviously be a hell of a low risk/high reward move that makes so much sense for a team destined to pick in the 30s.

Also FWIW — this is legit. The journalist has been talking to Baker directly, as they called it an exclusive NYP interview under the link in his original tweet.

Hopefully he will take a 2 year deal because I don’t think he fits into the equation much this year. But next year with Breeland gone...

So did Baker find the magic formula for getting out of a rookie deal by year 2?

Yeah, but do we have CBs who are willing to play the gunner position?

And also special teams when needed?

Not really because he still has to complete another 3 years of vested seasons to be an UFA.

Heís basically a UDFA with one year of service complete right now.
