Daly came from NE as a defensive run game specialist

Past four years in NE, joined KC in the same role...only 4 teams in 30 years have given up 180+ rushing yards in 4 straight games.

Why would he come here from a team that has been to 3 straight Superbowls...doing the same exact thing? He wasn't fired...

What ever he's doing...he's making history.

"Patriots' Defensive Dominance Has NFL Rivals in Awe of Bill Belichick Again
MIKE FREEMAN
OCTOBER 11, 2019

There are people in the NFL who have spent much of their careers studying everything Bill Belichick does, and they say what he is doing this season with the Patriots defense is unprecedented, even for him.

As coaches have prepared to face New England, or have looked at the Patriots' game tape to steal tricks and ideas, they've all come away thinking the future Hall of Fame coach has created the most disciplined, effective and well-rounded defense they've ever seen. Some—I spoke to four assistants total—say the Patriots defense is the best example yet of how Belichick blends talent with a total team concept."

While I agree, no one is better than Bill, it will be interesting to see how they play teams with a winning record and an actual offense.

It will be interesting to see how this team does in the last 6-8 games once they become more comfortable with the scheme and the techniques that are being taught become more effective.

Coming into this year, I said I’d give them 8-10 games to start seeing results.

I’ll try to be patient and see how the players respond to the next few games.

Yes, the team is 4-2 and only has two loses and to potential playoff teams. Its just two games.

More games will give one a better gauge on things.

One of the things that is interesting is that they are using a more aggressive (and dangerous) style of defense. Not that he has completely gone away from read-and-react, but he's doing alot of man-to-man with a single high safety. That's partly due to confidence in the excellent DBs, of course, but could also be a shift in philosophy in general.

It will be interesting to see if they keep up that focus once they start playign better QBs and better offenses.

I saw an interesting stat the other day -- the Pats and 3 former Pats coaches are the top four teams in the NFL in using man-to-man with a single high safety in the NFL this year. Possibly a direct result of the focus on offensive OPI and the ability to REVIEW plays for OPI. With pick plays being harder to execute (or get away with, if illegal), the Patriots and coaches who have worked for BB seem to be leaning toward man-to-man and away from zone.

It's not completely out of your realm.

Pioli was an absolute dumpster fire and the 'run game specialist' Daly is even worse.

err...right. And then Pioli and Dimitroff took the Falcons to the Super Bowl where they blew the biggest lead in NFL history to the (wait for it) Patriots!

So that was arranged? They planned that holding call and sack that pushed the Falcons out of FG range to seal the win?

What exactly is your point?
