Agreed. It is wild. The loss of CU/ NU and aTm really hurt the league. But, it is what it is.

All those teams that left pretty much suck balls in their new confys. That’s been the funniest part of it.

Colorado didn't really do much their last 5 years in the B12 and have accomplished as much in the P12(There was 1 fluke year where they made the P12 title game and won 10 games!).

Nebraska is a mess right now, dunno how much on this is still related to firing Pelini.

I think B12 would be held in higher regard if Texas was consistently good + one other top 15 team to go along with OU (OK St. and Baylor are flirting with that right now, but I'm thinking of Tech with Leach and how they've dropped off, TCU dropping off with Patterson, etc.)

Since 2005, Colorado has made three bowl games: 2007, 2016, and 2020.

Putrid.

That is the QB I was expecting. Took a little longer than I'd liked, but hey, better now than later.

Those two throws to Kade Warner (who dropped them unfortunately) were dimes.

We may live in a world where KSU and KU have a chance to win the B12.

That’s crazy to me.
Didn’t Alabama almost lose to Texas’s backup QB?

Yes.

And since then, Texas has lost to Texas Tech.

I was thinking about this as I’m drinking my coffee. And I’m certain PB has mentioned it somewhere in the archives of the board.

Kentucky isn’t going to win the SEC. Nor Mississippi or Vandy. There are two teams that can win the title. That’s it. And when OUT run away to the SEC, they’ll be two more teams that are just also rans until Saben retires.

The “Texas lost to Tech” happens once a decade. Kentucky has beaten Bama once in 25 years?

Anyway, that’s the problem I see with the super conference. It’s going to be 2 teams, with there occasional 3rd team popping up within a conference to compete for the title.

And unless your KChiefs1 who likes to stand on the shoulders of giants to yell out a conference cheer, it’s going to suck.

Until then, I’ll sleep well knowing the Cats beat those trailer dwelling, red clay eating mongrels.

Kentucky's like 2-38 all time against Alabama, with 1 win coming in 1997 and the other before WW2. Even though they're in the same conference, prior to the divisions existing and with them existing, they still don't play each other a lot.

The hope now, with the expanded CFP as well, is that once in a blue moon for the teams like Kentucky, Miss St., Ole Miss, South Carolina, etc. is for things to line up perfectly maybe once a decade for a chance to compete in Atlanta for the SEC title. And if not, to either get a New Year's 6 Bowl or make the new 12 team playoff.

And to your point about the occasional 3rd team, that's what I'd argue teams in the Kentucky/Ole Miss tier are hoping they can be in those once in a blue moon seasons, similar to Ole Miss last year.

Aside from Alabama or Georgia, LSU since Saban has consistently been a contender for a SEC title or national title. Florida, Tennessee, and Auburn have have had their time in the sun as well (with 2 of the 3 winning a title this millennium in addition to LSU).

There's not really a team in the B12 you can point to currently and say, aside for Oklahoma and Texas, saying they can contend for a national title on a consistent basis. Baylor, Texas Tech, Oklahoma St., Kansas, Kansas St., TCU, WVU, and Iowa St. all have a ceiling, IMO, as programs in current CFP structure (NY6 Bowl or less). With PO expansion, that should raise the ceiling for some of the current better teams in the B12.

I will also enjoy my alma mater currently being ranked #8 in the country (not in basketball, either) before fretting about next weekend in Oxford, MS.

I don't think the media bias matters. I think it's a matter of competition and being legitimate contenders.

I don't think Iowa State could step on a field and compete with the Ohio State team that just demolished Wisconsin.

That's the level of good it's going to take before people start talking about it seriously. He has to put them on the map with big wins against big programs.

That means you have to beat teams like Baylor, Texas, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State and be an undefeated football team.
