Is this true numbers for Arenado’s contract?

Arenado's breakdown year to year is thus assuming he doesn't opt out:
2023 $35 million- Rockies pay $16 million + $6 million deferred-we pay $2.36 million from deferred money from the $20 million deferred in 2021. Total $15.36 million
2024 $35 million- Rockies pay $5 million + $6 million deferred-we pay $2.32 million from deferred money from 2021. Total $26.32 million.
2025 $32 million- Rockies pay $5 million + $6 million deferred-we pay $2.28 million from deferred money from 2021. Total $23.28 million
2026 $27 million- $6 million deferred-we pay $2.24 million from deferred money from 2021. Total $23.24 million
2027 $15 million- we pay $2.2 million from deferred money from 2020. Total $17.2 million
2028 $2.16 million from deferred money from 2021.
2029 $2.12 million from deferred money from 2021.
2030 $2.08 million from deferred money from 2021.
2031 $2.04 million from deferred money from 2021.

Whether true or not, why would a team or player do that? I mean that seems like some Bobby Bonilla kind of stuff.

A team would do it because a dollar today is worth more than a dollar 5 years from now. No idea why players agree to it though.

He may not opt out but he's going to get something to not opt out. More years, more money in the current contract years. Something. And he deserves it. Players that can produce 30HR's and 100 RBI's are rare.

judging by the number of Pirate fans in attendance, most agree with you. Sucks because it looks like a great place to see a ball game too.

I still feel like it's a tad overrated.

Beautiful from outside the stadium and I liked Pittsburgh a LOT more than I expected to. But the park itself, at least from the inside is...fine.

Could've been an atmosphere problem, but I don't have it up there with Seattle, San Francisco or even Minnesota. I have it more along the lines of San Diego - just a little more impressive on television than in person.

Whereas I still think Royals stadium looks kinda shitty on TV but is a fantastic spot to catch a game in person.

And I will again renew my calls to bulldoze both Fenway AND Wrigley - absolute shit boxes, the both of them.

So looking ahead to the playoff schedule on Friday with my projections for games based on the times already scheduled

12pm ESPN - Rays vs Guardians
1pm ABC - Phillies vs Cardinals
3pm ESPN - Mariners vs Blue Jays
7pm ESPN - Mets vs Padres

I would assume the Mets get the primetime game, ABC will go after Pujols and the Cardinals. The AL matchups are blah and shit tv markets.

Honestly I love both of those AL matchups. Those are 4 REALLY well run franchises that all took different approaches and executed them extremely well.
