AZ Senator Kristen Sinema leaves Democrat Party-goes to Independent

Heard no rumblings out here that this was even being considered.

Something obviously happened after the election to either sour her to the Dems or this could be a maneuver for 2024 since many more Dem seats are up for reelection that the Republicans.

Have not heard if she will caucus with the Dems but initial word is she probably won't.

She is very independent in her stances.

AOC is 33, and Boebert is 35. Sinema looks pretty good for 46.

I'd take Sinema over Boebert or AOC. The latter 2 aren't any more special than a waitress you'd find at the a chain restaurant.

Sinema looks fine for her age. But this is the US Congress, not America's Top Model and we're not likely to get better looking women into congress than either of those 2. Though i remember a Latino chick ran in Texas this year for a seat, but lost.

Washington is Hollywood for ugly people.

Unless you live in a town with no people none of these politicians are anything to write home about.

You would be completely right if my opinion of McCain had anything to do with Obamacare or Trump but strangely enough I know enough about him going back to pre-2012 that those things are irrelevant.

But hey you do you and kiss up to McCain because you were told to and lean on "Trump" as your answer to anyone and anything you don't agree with. That's a real sign of intelligence.

Now that I've looked into this, first from listening to Baris, Sinema is just being a shrewd politician because it is just a tactic to avoid being primaried. Her voting record is still very left-wing. She said she would not cave into pressure but she did cave into Build Back Better which is radical. ( She did get invited to the WEF recently too.) Her positions are not moderate. She is good on just a few things and not much overall.

Sinema and Manchin are both malleable. Being open to this, and being open to that types DO NOT have core principles. They don't even have the common values that are in the Bill of Rights. Neither of the parties supports these core values these days. Only a handful do—most don't.

McCain also stabbed Reagan in the back twice— one was on taxes; the other on the Dept of Education. Yet people are worried about indoctrination in their schools and experimental education trends such as Common Core, Outcome-Based Education/Schools 2000, and Whole Language all of which have come from that department centralizing education trends that have ALL been failures despite massive amounts of money thrown at it. This is what you get with these so-called "mavericks" who claim to cross the aisle.

So this move by Sinema won't change anything. We just have a lot of easily fooled posters here buying into another lying politician.

Good for her age? My figure is way better than hers as are many other later 40-year-olds. Christie Noem is what I would call hot—both face and figure. She is older than Sinema too. Kirstin's face looks good, has great skin and she is pretty so it applies there. She's pretty. But she is too out of shape to be called "hot." Chunky! Gimme a break! Not that it matters but since some here are posting it as a standard it's fair to counter their argument.

If it is a Constitutional limited-govt type or a right-populist type then good.

More likely, it will be someone from the McCain machine.

Maybe she did and I missed it?

She saved the filibuster, which has prevented the Dems from running roughshod over everything. She's a leftist, but the country, including the political right, owes her a great deal for that.

And she's showing that she's much better at the game than is Manchin, though that might be because Manchin is about the grift rather than the politics and the country.
