Idiotic hypocrites whining about coach Reid

What's really funny to me is that most people bitching about "taking the ball out of our best playmakers hands", are the ones that bitch about clock management and scoring too quickly/not running the ball to run clock. If we throw the ball there and Hill/Kelce take it to the house and then Lamar scores on our shit defense, then you idiots are bitching that we threw it too much, scored too quickly and didn't run it enough.

We had 1:24 left, all 3 timeouts, and had already made it to the Ravens 32 yd line. We were running our offense and ran it on 2nd and 3 burn some clock and try to get the 1st down. He wasn't trying to settle for a 50ish yard FG and I guarantee he doesn't run that ball even if it's 3rd and 1.

Just look at the how much time was on the game clock when we got the ball on the last drive 3:14. We were clearly running down as much clock as possible and ran only 2 plays in 1:14 of game time to the 2 minute warning. We pass it after the 2 minute warning and for the first time that drive we had a 2nd down. We run it, so that we can for sure get the clock down to 45ish seconds before the next play, but an incomplete pass stops the clock with around 1:10. If we don't convert 2nd and 3 the clock still runs and then we have 3rd down to pass it. An incomplete pass on 3rd down stops the clock, but since we ran it the play before there is only around 30 seconds left and then we kick the FG and Baltimore gets the ball with 1 time out and 15 - 20 sec left or no timeouts and 45 - 50 seconds. An incompletion on 2nd and then 3rd gives Baltimore over a minute with a timeout left. Andy knew the D wasn't stopping them and didn't want them to get the ball with any time if we don't convert there. He just didn't expect Clyde to have his first fumble there.

I guarantee you they wouldn't be saying, "Well, you just keep letting Mahomes throw it over and over again in that situation without even considering a single run to balance it out and keep the defense honest."
My 2 complaints in watching that game.....

The defense probably would have let the Jet or the Jaguars dump 30 points on us the way they played the other night....very bad night for them.

CEH--- and only from the point of view that when you run into a crowd like he was doing, that late in the game and close to FG range, you always have 2 arms on the ball when you hit the pile. You gotta know that the defense is looking to punch the ball out of your hands. Why? Because they know if Mahomes has his way, he will will us into FG range with seconds left.

This is a big point. For as much as CP seems to be an informed group of people with intelligent takes on many subjects, there seems to be many who lose brain cells when it comes to predicting Chiefs games. The amount of people that actually believe most games will end 56-10 Chiefs "because Mahomes" is staggering.

It's the NFL. The difference between most players is Olympic race negligible. Lots of CPers were acting like the Chiefs were going against Topeka High last Sunday. So when we lost (and it was a shitty loss that sucked), those same guys are going full "Andy sucks, Veach is overrated, Chris Jones is trash now, etc.

It was a bad loss, most Chiefs didn't play as well as we're used to seeing, and I'm sure Andy has a few plays he would like over. Time to move on and go crush the Chargers 56-10!!!!!!

They lost, because Andy Reid had a 3rd n 2 staring him in the face, with little over a minute left, and he did not grasp the fact that we were 2 yards from a victory.

Lot of options to get two yards in two downs here. One, you let Patrick, who is around 400 yards at this point spread em out and plunge the dagger, you can go 3te and blast Anthony Sherman into the middle twice if needed, etc..

Instead, we design a play where an immobile Mahomes has ONE pass catcher in the pattern. Blake ****ing Bell. Like, honestly. Could you select a worse play for the situation?

Of course its a disaster, Mahomes can't run so loses yards sliding down in bounds. Our 3rd n 2 is now 4th n 6 or 8 and we punt the ball back, so they can march right down and score.

Andy calls plays late in games as if they are the first play of the first drive in the first quarter.

There's no little Andy on his shoulder that just says, hey big boy. Get 2 yards and we win right here.

Serious question, do you ever post here when the Chiefs are doing well? Because I've never, ever seen you post unless there's something to bitch about.

I dont think you can bring players out of retirement for situations like that.

I rarely predict blowout victories so hands up, I f***ed up on this one. I honestly felt we've had the Ravens number and even if they had switched things up the injuries they had would've made it very hard to execute whatever plan B they were working. Got it horribly wrong, but I honestly thought our defence couldn't be that bad.

Why have there not been more short passes to CEH in open space? It worked at LSU.

In some instances, sure. But I know this place well enough to know that there are also some who sincerely wish to have their opinions of Reid being a bad HC validated, even though he has already invalidated them. And, of course you have your douche bag trolls who are just trying to get everyone riled up for their own sadistic pleasure.

There are multiple things driving this nonsense.

Hey. Try to keep up. This was a statement about why we lost to the Titans Patricks first game back from the kneecap injury.

Jesus Christ.

Yeah, I do. I dont live here, I dont post whore, and i have sone opinions on Andy Reids decisionmaking in tight games that triggers a lot of Reid apologists here.

I have more positive rep than bad, i have more liked posts than disliked.

You either have bad luck and only see me critiquing Andys decisions, or you dont read all the threads.

I do find it quite entertaining though, that I'm lately being painted as an anti Chiefs troll. Laughing makes the long days easier, so its helping.

Maybe before you paint me with the troll brush, you could objectively look at what im saying from my side. Hell, pretend im insane and just play devils advocate.

Game on the line. You have the best player on the planet, shredding Baltimore with the spread offense.

You could put the game in his hands, or you can give the ball to tbe worst running back in the league. Not just visually worst, statistically as well.

If you cant see how someone pointing out that the ball was in the wrong persons hands in the first place is a valid point, the theres no need to continue discussion.

Other things went wrong. Yes. But all that was over. What you want is to be at the end of a game, with a chance to win.

Despite everything else, the Chiefs were in position to win the game at the end. Andy simply chose to take the ball out of Patrick's hands.

I thought we were paying Patrick half billion dollars for these very situations. Not to turn and hand off for 2 yard losses.

Maybe i was wrong. Seems expensive though.

Football 101.

You're down by one. You have the ball in FG position, 1:24 to go, 3rd and 2. Your defense has been a disaster all game long. You need to eat some more clock.

An incomplete pass is a bad thing, it stops the clock.

A complete pass in bounds is great, you get the first and you can eat some more clock. Even the best QB in the world is going to fail 30% of the time here.

A run for no yards or a loss is a win; you have to kick, but at least the clock still runs. Ravens get the ball back with like...less than a minute.

A run for 2+ yards is great; you get the first, and you can run more clock.

The only thing that screws this up? A turnover.

What do you do? You run the ****ing ball, dumbass.

Stastically speaking, that's the smart thing to do in that situation.

This time it didn't work out. Doesn't mean you don't do it. It was the smart move.

Mahomes/Clyde.

Tough decision.

Also, what game were you watching?

Clyde fumbled on second down.
