Public Service Announcement: Check your FICO credit score for FREE!

hey!

working on loan submittal docs for several credit unions for the new gourmet popcorn factory/store.

double and triple-checking everything including score. FICO is the only score standard that matters.

using this website from Experian:

https://www.experian.com/?intcmp-cor-signin-logo

experian.comexperian.com
Check Your Free Credit Report & FICO® Score - Experian
Experian is committed to helping you protect, understand, and improve your credit. Start with your free Experian credit report and FICO® score.

it provides immediate credit report and score for free for Experian.

And, if you sign up for the $25/month package. you receive ALL THREE scores and reports. You will instantly know if your scores will allow you to borrow to get the whatever of your dreams!

AND if you cancel within 7 days, there is no monthly fee. For $25/month, they will send you emails of all credit score increases and changes. For the cost of having a few fewer beers/month, you will have instant and up to date info.

I'm going to keep it. Peace of mind.

have a good weekend

No sense to pay anymore. Many banks and brokerages have deals to access for free.

Credit Karma has not a ****in CLUE what your credit score is. Its the single biggest eye roll in my business. So much that when a customer tells us a credit score we have to ask where they saw it, if it was Credit Karma, it literally has ZERO meaning, its so often so badly wrong. I see it EVERY DAY they can be off by 150 points or more, and its almost always higher than it actually is.

Your credit cards DO know your score, and the scores are provided by the credit companies.

Odd. I'm kind of obsessive about monitoring mine, and CK has never been off by more than 10 or so from what my credit cards say.

I find CK to be useful for monitoring changes to your general score (since they all use the same data) though I know that they all have slightly different approaches in their calculations. I find that most credit cards just give you the score without a lot of ability to understand what's driving it.

CK does provide Experian's score alongside the Vantagescore FWIW.
