Zero Turn Mowers - The tractor thread... with a twist

I'm moving onto a 10 acre farm. The land isn't hilly... it is mostly flat. I have about 5ish acres to mow and the back of the parcel is hayed by a local farmer at the moment.

I've been researching zero turn mowers for the past month and am almost sold on an Arien's Ikon XL 60 with the Kawasaki motor.

https://www.ariens.com/en-us/lawn-pr...saki-zero-turn

I understand Ariens to be a great brand and they are currently offering 0% for 48 months putting this around $100 a month.

https://www.ariens.com/en-us/financemymower

Is this the mower I should be buying for my land or should I be looking at something else?

I plan to grow our food there as well. It is my goat to farm/tend 85% of what we consume. The other 15% being dairy products, pepsi, and random snack food.
That’s a nice looking plot of land. You should be proud of how well it is maintained.

Spartan mowers are the best bang for the buck. 7 gauge deck, up to 72" cut. built like a tank. heavy duty parker wheel pump. best most comfortable seats. lots of accessories , will hold its tracks mowing down a hillside. can get with a big block vanguard that's built by Toyota, briggs, kawi or cat diesel. I live on a mountain of rocks and destroy mowers but my spartan kicks ass.

My parents have owned two Grasshoppers and they've been fantastic, well-built mowers. I can't say how they compare to all the others mentioned in the thread, but I suspect they should be in the conversation quality-wise.

There is a dealer in Butler Mo, those do look like a great machine. If it had Farris suspension it would be awesome

Holy crap! I need to get a zero turn and stop using my tractor. I think it takes me almost four hours to mow 6 acres on my tractor.

I cut my mowing time from about 5 hours to a little over 3 by parking my tractor and using my parents' ztr mowers. YMMV if your lot has fewer trees/obstacles to mow around as it seems you must if you get 6 acres mowed in 4 hours. I'm a big fan of ztr.
