It's an event that promises to be unlike anything Central Texas has ever seen before.
Bikinis, Texas, the latest creation from Bikinis Sports Bar and Grill founder Doug Guller, will open its doors Saturday with a daylong celebration featuring performances by Jerry Jeff Walker and a number of other musicians, as well as a visit from former “Baywatch” star Carmen Electra.

Guller, the so-called mayor of Bikinis, Texas, bought what he refers to as a “ghost town,” near Fredericksburg last year and, after extensive renovations, has turned it into a special events venue.

One of the attractions set to be unveiled this weekend is a bikini hall of fame. Electra will be the first inductee, with her breasts set to be immortalized in bronze.
Yes, really.

“I didn’t even think twice when they asked me,” Electra told the American-Statesman. “I’m looking forward to Texas showing me how it’s done. I want to be schooled.”

Growing up in Ohio, Electra says she never could have envisioned the countless opportunities that have come her way. In addition to “Baywatch,” she’s had roles on countless other TV shows and movies.

“To take it to the next level for acting, I knew I had to leave,” she said. “My mom and dad always pushed and inspired me, but once I got to Los Angeles, I was on my own.”
Now, she’s branched out into music, as well. Several of her tracks are available for purchase on iTunes.

“What I love to do is perform and entertain,” she said. “It’s like a natural high. I’m grateful every day, every moment.”
