2008 KC offensive improvement--cohesiveness the key?

One of the recent articles on the offensive line really spoke loudly about the fate of the 2007 KC offense. The lack of cohesion on the offensive line did irrepairable damage to any hopes KC had of having a succesful start to the season.

But think back even further to what training camp in 2007 looked like:

-RT and RG were in question, followed by McIntosh's injury. The offensive line was virtually doomed from the beginning.

-Who would play QB? Huard and Croyle were splitting time with the first team offense, which cut down on familiarity.

-LJ wasn't present due to his holdout, which affected the timing with an offensive line already in shambles

-Bowe held out for 2 weeks which delayed his ability to contribute.

Follow that up with Kennision's injury on the first play of the season, and Solari's inane play calling and it's not really to surprising that this team lead the league in 3 and outs.

Contrast to the upcoming year:

-Offensive line will go to camp with set starters (provided Alberts is signed on time, not a given I know)

-Croyle is the starting QB.

-LJ is signed

-Bowe will be present from the start

-Gailey has a reputation AND experience as a good offensive coordinator/play caller.

Obviously this doesn't mean guaranteed results, but in thinking back to last season, just about everything that could go wrong did for KC. The only way to go is up at this point.

Funny thing is we won 4 out of our first seven. By the time we gelled we lost nine in a row, but we lost LJ.
