Robert Gallery was thought to be a physical freak, and we all know how the raiders love physical freaks. The difference between them, is that Joeckell is known as a technichian, which is what you have to be at the next level.....

High PFF QB ratings do not equal wins.

And Alex's rating is going to go down as a Chief, because checking it down and avoiding NFL throws isn't going to cut it in KC.

You have never needed an elite QB to win a SB.

You do, however, need a QB that is capable of making plays against top level defense in the playoffs.

Alex Smith showed he is capable of making plays against an inferior defense in New Orleans.

Against a good defense in the Giants, he was terrible.

Sure, it means they have legit interest. It doesn't mean their decision has been made. All the premature celebrating around here could end badly.

I would love to see them take Geno with #1. But I would be very surprised if they did. It would be a very bold move, but few coaches and GMs are willing to be that bold.

Geno coming in for a workout doesn't really add anything for or against the idea of drafting him.

Some people think it means nothing but good things, making comments like, "We wouldn't bring him in here if we were serious", but forget how the rest of the world works in its hiring practices. Some places will interview you, just to make sure you aren't the one. Which is exactly what we could be doing.

Maybe Reid is set on his plan to roll with Alex, but it makes all the sense in the world to work Geno out for a few reasons.

A. So teams get the impression that we're still interested in Geno
B. So Andy can evaluate, for himself, whether Geno is the real deal or not
C. To tie up some "personal" time with Geno, so that he spends less time with other teams trying to evaluate him.

All we can say for certain, for now, is that the trade value of our #1 pick is higher than it was before.

it appears so

All the people who don't understand ... think of it as draft pick PR.

Teams leak news to stir up interest with trades all the time. All this news about the Chiefs being interested in Geno Smith is PR for him, which raises the value of the #1 pick.

Girls want you more if you are already taken versus being single. Human nature to want what you can't have or what someone else wants/has.

I don't know what is going to happen with our pick but the value of the 1.1 pick appears to be increasing.

Really it raises the value of the #1 pick because right now its lowering the value and quickly with all the other qb needy teams signing qbs.

all part of the same 'movement'

less QB available helps
Geno Smith appears more appealing
Teams start worrying because if Geno goes 1st then it might start a run on the position

I am genuinely curious to see what this place will be like after the chiefs pass on Geno. So far it has been a non stop cycle of acceptance/denial. Should be entertaining.
