I totally get you - Wilson and Shanahan's system should be a perfect match. But it's like the Jets just suck the life out of players.
Yeah, but The Browns are pretty good now.

Just saying.

They're decent. They're not a contender.

And you have to wonder if this is their ceiling.

I mean, be honest. It's the Browns.

Maybe it is.

That's still a whole lot better than the guys that went two seasons without winning a game.

I think they have a higher ceiling. That defense was trash and it’s gotten better. I think their safeties will be way better. Johnson was a good get and Delpit was on IR before his rookie season last year.

They’re not the Chiefs, but they’re good.

They're not even the Bills, Ravens, or Titans to be honest.

They look to me like a team that's maxed out.

A lot of that has to do with their QB though. Is he really going to get that much better?

why wouldn't he?

some of y'all just hate Mayfield. It's almost pathological.

Last year was year one in that offense, with no pre-season or camp. Why in the world wouldn't you figure he'd be more efficient in it in year 2?

I agree with Chris. You really can't fairly judge any rookie QB on last year's performance. The test will be this year.

Pathological hate?

No, I've actually WATCHED him play.

I get that QB quality overall in the NFL is mediocre so every guy that looks the part gets tons of hype but do you REALLY think he's that good? Because I don't.

I think he's always shown flashes. I think he's been maddeningly inconsistent. As last season went on, I saw a lot less of the bad, and a lot more of the good. I see no reason why a second year in the offense wouldn't continue the trend.

I think Mahomes being Mahomes has skewed our view on other young QB's. It's not a realistic comparison; it usually takes a guy two or three years and Baker's on his 3rd coach and second system.

That's objectively pretty good.

It's not like it's an old team either.

a 'Nothing' team is bad, like The Jets, or Jaguars. 11-5 is pretty good.

There's really no argument there.

You can think they'll regress, or you can think they're not legit contenders, and that's fine.

But laughing at describing an 11-5 team that won a play-off game as 'pretty good' is not a defensible position. It's just not.

The Browns were a tougher match up for us than Buffalo. Last year they focused on fixing the offense. Now they are shoring up the defense. They are a good team that just had a very good FA.

Irrelevant. Not a title contender.
