Is Kelce a little "off" this year?

I can't put my finger on it but Travis Kelce looks a little off this season. He looks slower, a little clumsier and not at his best catching passes.

His blocking has been great so that's a positive.

I wonder if his ankle is not great after surgery.

Am I imagining this or are other people seeing something just not 100% with Travis?

Its freaking science guys, as our biggest fast guy, hes the least aerodynamic. So in the thin air of Mehico he had the least resistance hes gonna have all sesason, and the bigger feet and frame means more traction on a shit field. To top it off his famous Kelce brothers beer chugs have his body trained to party on with less oxygen while he downs a pitcher. The man was designed for that game. Chalk this W up to a superior genetic pool and years of academy training.

Travis may not have the acceleration and top speed he had say five years ago (according to the eye test anyway; unless someone has some actual numbers to work with), but his route-running, elusiveness, and ability to break tackles for YAC are as good as ever, IMO. How many times have we seen him catch the ball with a defender or two right there and he just makes a move and rumbles for extra yardage, usually for a first down.

In that respect, he's still the best in the league and doesn't seem to have lost anything in that regard.

That's how many yards Kelce has right about now (not counting lawns in front of his homes). So he's 167 yards short of his 4th 1000-yard season in a row.

How many TEs have had 4 1000-yard seasons in a row? 0.

(I think.)

You would be correct. He’s also the fastest to 650 catches and 5 thousand yards for a TE I believe

Kelce might hit 1 k this weekend against the Faders. He always torches them.

I don't think they have anyone that can cover him on that team.

Andy's game plan should be- pass to Kelce- repeat-repeat-repeat-Hill deep- pass to Kelce-repeat-repeat- until they can stop him.

Right?

This "he looks slow" shit, i still don't see it.

I mean, compared to his team mates he looks slow, sure. We have a track star at every spot, of course he looks slow comparatively.

But the strategy for beating the Chiefs offense this year is to mug Kelce with sometimes as many as 3 guys. Kelce is clearly Pat's go-to receiver on critical downs. It shouldn't be surprising to see guys draped all over him when he catches the ball.

That doesn't make him slow. It makes him covered.
