Guess which team's qb situation has the best outlook?

"The Chiefs currently have the best bargain in the league. Patrick Mahomes, last year’s MVP, is still on his rookie contract for one more year. In 2020, Mahomes will turn 25 and is scheduled to make just $735,000. But the Chiefs almost certainly will give him a long-term extension this offseason, and he could get a bump in pay to about $35 million a year. Is he worth it? “His mechanics make me shake my head sometimes. He throws across his body and back against the field a lot. But it works for him. He does things no one else can,” one of our panelists said. And it’s probably going to stay that way for at least the next decade."

But if you want to see some sad states for other teams, you can find in here:

I saw something today that suggested that the next CBA may have a salary cap system that modifies the hit for QBs, such that the full value of their contract may not be on the cap. That would help the Chiefs in connection wiht the new contract of course.

I'm uncertain how I feel about it. Having a superstar QB is already a big advantage in the modern NFL, and now the one aspect of it that isn't great -- he consumes too much of the cap -- might be mitigated.

Things that make the NFL more QB/offense-centric aren't automatically great in my mind, but for YOUR purposes as Chiefs fans, it'd be a great outcome certainly.

For most of the past thirty years I would have hated this, but now I think it would be a great idea.

But seriously, it's a really bad idea. It strengthens the strongest teams.

Or you just have your QB take well below his market value contract and set up a rehab facility owned by him on site at the team's facility...

You guys have gotten lucky that Brady has always been willing to take money under the able or accepted a back end deal as partial owner of the franchise.
