Is Kelce a little "off" this year?
I can't put my finger on it but Travis Kelce looks a little off this season. He looks slower, a little clumsier and not at his best catching passes.

His blocking has been great so that's a positive.

I wonder if his ankle is not great after surgery.

Am I imagining this or are other people seeing something just not 100% with Travis?

I have been a bit curious about Kelce as well. It appears almost like he is playing under-water at times. He is still a certified Badass in my opinion, but I am wondering if that off-season ankle surgery slowed him a bit.

Without looking it up I think he’s 30, so yeah, he’s probably a touch less explosive.

Other than that I think he looks great. I can’t remember a single bonehead drop this year. When Alex was here there seemed to be quite a few. And they were drive killers. Because Smith.

As he gets older his skills will diminish but I think it's been tough when Tyreek and Sammy are out then he gets mauled off the line. I think when we have all of our pieces back it'll get real interesting. Now maybe teams are chipping him more regularly nowadays because they know it throws Mahomes off his game, or that it's easy to get Kelce bothered by it so he doesn't play as well, that could be a reason. I think of him as clutch, like a great FG kicker, when you need him, he's there, and that's all he needs to be. His swagger and leadership are just cherries on top.

Remember Kelce had ankle surgery this offseason. I think that limited his ability to train much in the offseason. If memory serves, I don’t think he really did much of anything until training camp.

Ankle surgeries, no matter how minimal, are always slow to heal, and a pain in the ass.

TG had another great 10 years after he was done making moves in the open field.

But Kelce needs to learn how to box out and catch contested balls better if he's going to last more than another couple years. His juking and YAC days are coming to an end.

I agree. He definitely looks slower. But he takes a lot of hits being a TE going over the middle and that takes its toll. I think his play peaked last year. Now that his celebrity status is at it's peak and he's gotten paid this works on you subconsciously(not as hungry) and you hope this is not the case. He does have that personality of ADD for sure.

He's 30. He's obviously lost a little athleticism but he doesn't look hurt or anything.

He's on pace for 1200 yards. He did fail to make some plays against the packers that he usually makes (he was pretty upset at himself as well) so that might be coloring it a bit. He's had some drops. I have confidence in him.
