Andy Reid got thoroughly outcoached

Belichik didn't do a damn thing different then what he's done the last 6 weeks of the season and Andy Reid completely choked. No gameplan whatsoever. 37 yards of offense in the first half and I put that on Reid not Mahomes. He went the first 2 quarters without running a single bunch set, a single rub route, not once did he move the pocket, and only once did he run a play action pass. Not a single screen and no misdirection. He was dropping straight back in shotgun against a blitzing defense when he has a QB that can move.

Andy actually made Belichiks defense look like the '85 bears for a quarter.

I'm gonna have to agree with the folks in Philly who hate on him so much. Reid just doesn't have it.

I don't know. I'm pretty sure Rain Man predicted 16-0 and a Super Bowl victory.

I mean, I think he did that for all the Alex Smith Chiefs teams too, but I believe he predicted the AFCC appearance this year nevertheless.

He seems to be sort of an optimist.

We won the 3rd and 4th quarter 31-17, with some really strange calls and a completed catch by Hogan that stood as called on a 3rd and long that would have given us the ball back with the lead. If Ford isn't a few knuckles offside. Brady exits with 1 TD and 3 picks, and Gronk likely retires with a missed reception that was tipped to KC for the victory.

This thread is stupid... Reid's first year with a HOF caliber QB and we lost in OT... It sucks, but the overreaction by some of you suck more.
It was basic coaching fundamentals that this team messed up on. It was embarrassing.

1. Why weren’t we prepared for the cover 0 blitz? They did this last time and ran it 4X again! You had months of film to prepare!
2. Why couldn’t we adjust to the Patriots pass rush? They literally blitzed up the middle the entire first half. We made zero adjustments for it.
3. Where was the creativity?! Get your playmakers opportunities. No horizontal use of our strength in playcalling.
4. Why did Tony Romo know the Patriots playcalls but this defense didn’t?! Come on!
5. WHY WAS DEE FORD OFFSIDES?!?! THAT IS HORRIBLE FOR HIM AND THE COACHES! INEXCUSABLE!

That is lame bullshit.

Exceeding preseason expectations does not excuse Andy and Sutton getting clowned by Belichick yesterday.

This idea that Andy/Sutton should get a pass for yesterday because they exceeded subjective expectations for the season set in June/July/August is weak.

KC had success all year long by having the offense jump out to leads and making other teams play catch up which in turn plays to the strength of KC's pass rush.

The offense came out ill prepared. That's on Andy. Less than 100 yards between the running game, Hill and Kelce. That's on Andy. Offensive line unable to keep Mahomes untouched for more than 2 seconds. That's on Andy.

I understand Sutton and the D are the whipping boys, as they should be, but it's a bit myopic not to hold Reid accountable for the offensive problems (many of which were foreseeable).

I thought in the first half Andy Reid was trying too hard to coach like BB in that he was trying to run the ball on first and second downs on each drive and that never got Patrick in a rhythm to do his thing. We have the most explosive offense but the running game comes from the threat of down field passing. We didn't run our normal offense. I thought Andy tried to copy cat BB game plan by running the ball to keep Brady off the field.

We got took in the first half but second half Patrick Mahomes II did his thing and we outscored the Patriots 31-17.

Bullshit. There were people including me that said we could go to the Championship game this season. We had our opportunity and was a coin flip away from the Super Bowl.

1. Why weren’t we prepared for the cover 0 blitz? They did this last time and ran it 4X again! You had months of film to prepare!

Mahomes struggled in the first half reading the defense and not going to the hot read. He also missed a wide open Williams the last drive of the half and took a sack that cost us points. This is his first year, he will get much better at reading these defenses and getting rid of the ball and causing them pain.

2. Why couldn’t we adjust to the Patriots pass rush? They literally blitzed up the middle the entire first half. We made zero adjustments for it.

We adjusted at halftime and rolled them offensively in the 2nd half.

3. Where was the creativity?! Get your playmakers opportunities. No horizontal use of our strength in playcalling.

again, made adjustments and rolled them offensively in the 2nd half

4. Why did Tony Romo know the Patriots playcalls but this defense didn’t?! Come on!

Was at the game, so I didn't hear Romo, but Tom made some great throws and we blew some coverages with a young Lucas...

5. WHY WAS DEE FORD OFFSIDES?!?! THAT IS HORRIBLE FOR HIM AND THE COACHES! INEXCUSABLE!

I was at Chiefs training camp in St. Joes and I actually heard Sutton coaching his guy's to line up in the neutral zone because it gives you a head start...

Watched games all year and those guys on the edge are lined up like that a lot and its rarely called.
See above... We got beat by the BEST QB and the BEST Coach of all time. It's not arguable unless you are being intellectually dishonest. I hate them, but they are damn good and have been to 8 straight AFC Championship games for a reason.

Watching replay you see all our receivers running 20 yard routes!!! Against the blitz!!!! What the hell was Mahomes seeing or Reid thinking??? Their doubling Tyreek and Kelce and rushing 5. That leave two DBs to cover our other two receivers and a back leaking out of the backfield. Yet Mahomes throws into double coverage for no gain! IT'S PISS POOR COACHING...….PERIOD!
This is something Mahomes needs to learn. Sometimes you need to check down.

A lot of coaches get out coached by BB.
He has a system in place for a long time. He is the master (and cheater) of football.

We can just be thankful that one day-the Pats rule will be over and they will go back to being a terrible team. We have PM3 to look forward to.

****ing this.

The Pats was the team to do that against. They aren’t as fast as the Colts....yet Hill didn’t have one rush attempt. What the ****?

I don't know about never, but the Chiefs will need overwhelming talent that can overcome Reid's tendencies to go super conservative at the worst times.

If you want to blame Reid for keeping Sutton then I agree but otherwise Reid did his job.

The offense scored 31 points in the second half. Had the lead 2 times.

The issue was defense couldn't get a stop on 3rd and 9 and 2 3rd and 10's on OT as well as Fords insane penalty on the last drive in regulation.

Thats game.

All of a sudden everyone claims we’d be in the championship game at the start of the season

You guys are special. I’m stoked about the season we had. We just need to change the DC, not everything is falling apart.

Honestly I’m not super pissed that we lost. We had a better season than I hoped for.

What I’m mad about is that the Pats are in the SB again and I’m not 100% sure that Sutton is gone. If you could guarantee me that Sutton would be gone in a week....I’d be ten times ****ing happier than I am right now.
