****2018-2019 Official NBA Regular season thread****

Didn't see anybody starting this thread so I guess I will.

Anti climatic season starts tonight and my prediction is GS vs Boston in the NBA Finals.

First 2 Games tonight on TNT with Philly vs Boston and OKC vs GS. Westbrook is out tonight so that game will be a blowout most likely.

They saved MJ in an elimination game? Huge difference.

And Ray Allen’s came after some bad turnovers and a rebound from a missed attempt by Lebron vs. an assist.

Context.

LeBron hit the 3 on the previous possession though. That kept the Heat alive. He misses they lose.

Also, Bosh never gets enough credit for the offensive rebound and assist.

Yes he did, but he did not finish that 4th quarter well at all. If Ray Allen doesn’t hit that shot, he would’ve taken a lot of shit for it. When you’re being compared to MJ, these little things matter. It is what it is.

And yes Bosh deserves more credit for that also.

I wouldn’t say Kyrie saved LeBron.

That was a tie game and the Warriors didn’t score the rest of the way. No way is saying that LeBron wouldn’t have scored.

His block on Iguodala was one of the most iconic defensive plays in NBA history. You can be clutch on defense too.

Did he “save” him? No, I didn’t say that. Allen did, but Kyrie didn’t.

But he put up one of the greatest Finals performances ever, and as well as Lebron played, he needed it and that shot.

And? There’s still a huge difference combined with the other context I provided. Feel free to pretend there isn’t though.

Chiefs win the Super Bowl and I won’t GAF what anyone else says about anything. Enjoy the **** out of the moment.

Except that I can't remember anyone once using the term "asterisk" except for when somebody was caught cheating or there was a blatant bad call. I've never heard it used as an excuse for injuries which are part of the game. Bad luck, sure.

The asterisk is just another part of the media hype machine for Golden State. There have been many teams in history hurt way worse by injuries (Cleveland 2015 is still the obvious example. Can't remember anyone asterisking that). There have been many finals teams far worse than what Golden State marched onto the court. It's just a really insulting way to discredit a team that earned a championship.

There was another team with the NBAs 2nd best player out? I don't recall that.

Beating Kizer wouldnt be the same as beating Rodgers. Just as beating Cook/Looney isnt the same as beating Durant/Thompson. Nice but not the same.

Whether the Raptors are able to repeat comes down to Kawhi's decision and I still don't think anybody has a clue what he's going to do.
But no asterisk on Lebron's 2016 Finals win when they were down 3-1 to a healthy GS team?

well you're right that someone cant hit a clutch shot in an elimination game if they already hit a clutch shot to end the series i guess...
