Just got the e-mail from the HOF today. Tough competition though.

He should ****ing have made it first ballot. Its really a shame. He is one of 2 players ever in the history of NFL where you had to know WHERE he was every single play. OTher bieng the "REAL" LT of course.

The 2005 class of first ballotees is strong. Regie White and Thurmon Thomas should be first ballot locks. I think Aikman will get in too on the first ballot. Moon and Andre Reed will definitely make it at some point and have the stats to qualify their first year. My guess is that all 5 will make it.
I think DT is at the next level with Monk (its a crime he isn't already in), Dent (better sack numbers than DT), and Irvin. Prediction: Chiefs fans will need some patience. |

Unfortanetly its true, he probably wont get in this year. Even though he is a HUGE reason the team was so good in the 1990's.

This would be my order of preference for who should be selected. I suspect that the actual rankings by the voters will be somewhat different.
Reggie White L.C. Greenwood Derrick Thomas Bob Kuechenberg Richard Dent Michael Irvin Thurman Thomas Ray Guy Roger Werhli Warren Moon Randy Gradishar Troy Aikman Dermontti Dawson Harry Carson Claude Humphrey Gary Zimmerman Art Monk Andre Reed Art Modell Ken Stabler Russ Grimm Ralph Wilson, Jr. George Young Fred Dean Lester Hayes - since when does one good year make you a candidate?

Moon ranks 4th all time in passing yardage and 5th in passing TDs, not including his CFL years. Plus, he pioneered the way for Blacks at the QB position. I bet that will be enough to overcome the lack of post season success and get him in first ballot.
Andre Reed is like 5th best all time receiver. Could be on the bubble for first ballot. I over estimated Thurmon Thomas's rankings. He is 12th best in career rushing yards. Maybe not a lock for first ballot, but I still wouldn't bet against him. |

There are some others. Deacon Jones and Bruce Smith come to mind immediately. DT will get in soon enough, but not this year.
