I see what you are saying. I do, however, pay close attention to the 1st quarter.

Andrews and Andrews?

Or just Andrews?

And why were they up 23-9 or whatever in the 4th quarter if they sucked?

Dave, we need to hang out

I guarantee that you'd look at preseason differently.

Of course, it would be through beer goggles, but we'd watch all 4 quarters.

Champ is seriously over-rated at this point in his career. Asomugha is a much, much better CB.

I'd take Flowers over Bailey in a heartbeat this season.

And most every DB or LB for that matter is going to have an incredibly difficult time containing Tony. He's just a ball-catching freak. So that's not a very fair assessment of Asomugha's worth.

This.

And for Flowers and Asomugha in the Chiefs DB Corps, I'd tell BP to take a hike.

If the Chiefs had drafted Asomugha the fan base would have flipped out...

He was a college safety that got converted to corner I could have just heard that one.

I agree, most of the time it is pretty telling unless the other team is playing its starters for half the game or game planning the other team, but you can still get a good idea of how the players are doing individually, same as in practice. Players get cut after preseason games based on performance, same as in practice

Are you telling me that you didn't have a bad feeling about the 2004 Chiefs when they stunk it up in the preseason on offense? I did. And it took them 8 games to get a win (including preseason).

Don't discount pre-season games. You definitely get an idea of talent and depth.

And if guys can ****ing catch the ball.
That's somewhat true. The Chiefs only scored like 1 TD in the 2003 pre-season. Alot of the stuff you see in pre-season should be corrected if the team has good coaching. Tom Brady did look pretty good except when the Eagles would blitz. It's important cuz he's on my fantasy team.

And it also doesn't tell you 1 single thing about how teams will do in the regular season and we can show pre-season to regular season records that back that up over and over again. Teams do not scheme, generally they don't blitz or show any of the things that make them GOOD during the regular season. You can't even look at the first team and get any idea of how good or how bad they might be.

You might like to see all of this stuff but it still doesn't tell you a damned thing about what is going to happen in the regular season. Nothing.
