Denver announced the deal on Friday.

Walker signed with the Houston Texans as a free agent in 2007 and played four games, rushing for 264 yards on 58 carries and catching 13 passes for 81 yards.

He dressed for five games with the Texans last season but did not play before joining St. Louis' practice squad for a week on Nov. 4. He rejoined Houston's practice squad on Nov. 25, finishing the season with the Texans.

Well, they have also let several go from last season and you need "bodies" to get though all of the camps and the preseason... they won't hit week 1 with 17 RBs on the roster. The next 4 months is all about finding the guys that fit best and entering week 1 with a healthy roster.

"Broncos now have eight running backs on their roster: Knowshon Moreno, Correll Buckhalter, J.J. Arrington, LaMont Jordan, Peyton Hillis, Ryan Torain, Walker and undrafted rookie Kestahn Moore."

Torain, Walker and Moore likely won't make through all the preseason games without getting hurt or being cut.

That leaves 5... and Arrington is likely more of a return option, but who knows.

Whatever.. Moreno should very well be the lead guy, he's got a ton of talent and they'll have a capable group of RBs to fill in and do other things in the offense.
