we might as well have traded 2 1st rd draft picks for Alex Smith because there was/will be 1st round talent for both choices.

Welp, you did go from the laughing stock in the NFL to a playoff team in a year with him at the helm... It stings to not have the pick but you couldn't have had a year like that without Smiff and if you had a better QB than Smiff, it would have cost you a helluva lot more than the 2nd

I don't think people are down on taking offensive line as much as the idea of you had to draft a Guard in the first round was reeruned.
