They can dry their tears with their 8 national titles.

Saul: I've asked you this before but I never got an answer: when will you Mizzou fans stop hiding behind Alabama football and Kentucky basketball?

It's a rather simple question.

Nobody cares about Alabama or Kentucky except their fans. I believe his point is that even though UK fans are disappointed this year they have 8 championships and a ton of final fours that make this season more tolerable to their fan base. Maybe you should ask yourself why you consantly talk about a team that is not your rival and won't be playing the team you root for in any sport.

If you know anything about their basketball fanbase, you'll know that 8 championships do little for them to make this season more tolerable going from title to out in the first round of the NIT.

I admittingly don't know anything about their fanbase, but I'd definitely take some bad seasons if there was a championship in there somewhere. You really have to lose to appreciate winning. There are a lot of spoiled fan bases(many in the SEC) that just expect winning and act like sore losers when their football team goes 7-5 or 8-4. I've experienced a lot of suckage rooting for MU and KC sports teams in my life so it would seem pretty acceptable to me to have an NIT bid after a championship.

I would have loved for KU to have beaten UK in the title game last year when they had the chance. It didn't happen. KU is back for yet another #1 seed.

UK is well.... not.

Bull. Saul and several others on this board puff out their chests bragging about the exploits of the dominant SEC programs. I guess I find it hilarious since I couldn't give two squirts of urine whether OU wins 10 games or loses 10 games. I'm not a conference-fan, don't have to hide behind them to get my surrogate taste of glory.

Nothing wrong with liking your own teams even if they stink. I love the Chiefs and Royals. I know they both stink. I don't hide behind the exploits of the Baltimore Ravens to argue with Bronco fans. I'd be too embarrassed.

Just take a little time to head on over to catsillustrated.com - the rivals board for UK. Look through the basketball forum. MU fans think KU fans are the worst? Not even close.

As for me, I'm similar. I'd take a year of struggles with a young team if it meant the prior year was a championship. Honestly, that's what I expected after 2008. But for UK this was just another "greatest recruiting class of all time" that got them knocked out in the first round of the NIT. A lot of them have turned on nearly every member of the team and even Cal has thrown a bunch of them under the bus.

The whaling and gnashing of teeth in my neighborhood is fun to listen to....especially considering all the further I have to travel to see my favorite team play in the NCAA is 18 miles which is made even better by the fact that it is their home court.

(And yes KU fans I know it will be a one and done for MU)

According to Facebook's "like" feature*, here's what basketball conference is the most popular in the state of Missouri:

*"We calculate how many users have liked the team page for the teams in the tourney in each US county and display the conference with the most likes for their teams. "

Yes, I'm sure that data is accurate (and I'm sure everyone who previously had liked the Big 12 conference unliked it and immediately liked the SEC instead).

Doesn't pass the smell test, and you know it.

If you take one moment to think about the nature of Facebook you would probably just delete this and stop trying so hard.
