Is it time to replace Arrowhead with a dome?

The cold, crappy Dec/Jan. KC weather doesn't appear to provide any real home field advantage anymore.

At least the fans wouldn't be so miserable in a nice climate controlled facility. No more thousands of no shows or leaving at halftime on bad weather days.

I don't care to see another play in a SB at arrowhead. And if I were to shell out the dough to see the Chiefs in the SB, I wouldn't mind a nice weekend vaca to a warm weather city to accompany the experience.

Hard to argue with that I guess.

The chances to get those tickets at face value are like powerball odds. So I guess I would be in favor of my hometown getting something out of it especially the business owners.

Uh, I thought the taxpayers, voters, are the ones that did not approve the extra tax for the rolling roof.?

The taxpayers were led to believe when the stadium was built that it included the rolling roof. Once broke ground and near half into the construction the letdown was reveiled is what I kinda remember.

Maybe your referring to the stadium improvements before Lamars death.

No I am referring to the recent renovations. The rolling roof was an additional tax that the voters did not pass. IIRC

Yes but it was supposed to be built at original construction. The proposal for the roof as I remember it in the improvements was a bubble to get a Super Promised to us by the NFL we did not pass it and rightfully so after being lied to at original construction.

I could care less about a SB in KC. The Hunts and Chiefs top brass want to host the game I'm sure. But other than that I dont know why any local fan who's not a hotel/bar/store owner would give a shit about this. This is different than hosting an ASG.

I won't be spending a dime on the event. What's the point in going to the game spending hundreds or thousands of dollars when your team isn't playing in it?

I think the local businesses would like a shot at the extra coin that those who do have a team playing in the game might bring to their fine city. Today pretty-much only Hunt makes money off the SB, and he sure as help doesn't need any more money.

The rolling roof was a horrible idea from the very beginning. This is what it would have looked like:

See those large tracks that would have to be there for it to roll on? Those tracks and the roof itself would have been completely in the way and would have made access to the stadiums far less convenient. The fans would have to either climb over the rails or go around them in order to get into the stadiums. And for what purpose? So that the roof could be rolled over one of the stadiums on a rainy day, a snowy day, or for that mythical Super Bowl in Kansas City, the town with insufficient hotel space and not nearly enough entertainment options to attract a week-long event of that magnitude?

The rolling roof would have been an eyesore and an abomination. Even if technology can solve the problem of the tracks by recessing them into the ground, you'd still have that idiotic roof sitting there unused 360 days each year. I was elated when the voters rejected that idea.

Let them pay for the rolling roof then.

The tracks appear to be elevated so people can walk under them.

I agree.

I never really got why people loved the idea so much.
It really is ugly as shit. It's a step back, technology-wise, and indoor football is ****ing stupid.

Add to that the math of a Super bowl.
If we had a Super bowl how many Kansas Citians would actually be able to go (few). How ****ed up would our traffic be for a week (very). And would it increase the odds of the Chiefs being in it (not at all).

Done...
